Pre blow in extrusion blow molding
Pre Blow - The injection of a medium into a closed parison before the molds close.
Parison ejection rate
Parison ejection rate - The rate of plastic flow through the die body in cubic inches per second, or pounds per second.
Parison extrusion blow molding
Parison - The plastic tube formed by ejecting plastic through the die head or by injecting over a core within and injection cavity sometimes called preform.
Needle blow
Needle Blow - A system of blowing whereby the blowing medium is introduced into a mold through a needle inserted into the parison and which is frequently a part of the mold construction.
Moving Mandrel Die Head
Moving Mandrel Die Head - A die head whose mandrel of die pin can be moved vertically so as to vary the orifice opening.
Parison mechanical or electronic Programming
Mechanical or Electronic Programming - A method of changing the shape and wall thickness during formation of the parison.
Manifold
Manifold - A structure containing flow passages that carry the plastic to the accumulator head or die heads.
In-Mold Decorating for extrusuion and injection molding
In-Mold Decorating - The process of applying labels or decorations to plastic articles simultaneously with the molding operation.
Exhaust time extrusion blow molding
Exhaust time - The length of time required to relieve the blowing medium pressure in the molded part before opening the mold.
Die adjustment extrusion blow molding
Die Adjustment - Means for moving the die relative to the die pin ( lower mandrel).
Die ring extrusion blow molding
Die ring - The outside ring forming wall that determines the final orifice O.D. and shape.
Die pin extrusion blow molding
Die pin (lower mandrel) - The removable extension of the upper mandrel forming the inside wall of the final orifice.
Die mandrel extrusion blow molding
Die mandrel - The cylindrical section in the die head about which the plastics flow. The upper mandrel supports the lower mandrel.
Die land extrusion blow molding
Die land - A parallel section of the die ring just ahead of the opening.
Die head manifold extrusion blow molding
Die head manifold - A structure containing the flow passage(s) that carries the plastic to single or multiple die heads.
Die body extrusion blow modling
Die body - The main structure of the die head excluding the ring and pin.
Die and pin shaping extrusion blow molding
Die and pin shaping - Machining the pin and/or ring to produce a uniform or a non-uniform parison wall thickness or shape.
Die and pin set extrusion blow molding
Die and Pin Set - A matching ring and pin to form a parison of a given shape.
